In today’s world of rising misfortune, terror, and suffering, every student should have one class period a day to dive within himself to experience bliss—the Unified Field—and rise to enjoy invincibility in life. And with just a few groups of 8,000 students enlivening the Unified Field, the whole world will be transformed. Every nation will enjoy coherent collective consciousness and rise to invincibility—and the world family will enjoy permanent peace.

This was the urgent message delivered to the world press by Maharishi Mahesh during Maharishi’s November 17 global news conference, which was broadcast live to all continents via satellite and Internet webcast from the Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in Meru, Holland. Maharishi will speak to the world press during his next global news conferences on November 24 and 25.

Parents should ensure that schools offer Transcendental Meditation

Maharishi said that schools are now being established in every city to provide students with one class period a day to experience bliss. However, Maharishi said, parents should not to wait for the schools to be built. Instead, parents should work with local educators to ensure that existing schools offer students one period a day to practice Transcendental Meditation. “Call it a ‘period of bliss’ or a ‘period of maximum creativity’ or a ‘period of invincibility’—but every student should have one period a day to develop the Unified Field within his own self-referral consciousness,” Maharishi said.

Bringing fulfillment to today’s fragmented education

Maharishi said that Transcendental Meditation will bring fulfillment to the fragmented approach of today’s education, which relies on book learning to educate a student. “It is clear that ‘bookish’ knowledge doesn’t do justice to human intelligence, which is divine in its essential nature,” Maharishi said. “Divine intelligence—the Unified Field—administers the universe with perfect order. It cannot be known through books. It can only be known through being—it can only be known by diving within through Transcendental Meditation and experiencing it on its own level in Transcendental Consciousness.”

Maharishi announced that he is prepared to quickly train professors in total knowledge of the Unified Field to guide students to enlightenment. “Every professor realizes that whatever he knows, there is still something that he does not know. And what does he not know? That the Unified Field is within everyone—and it can be practically applied through Transcendental Meditation so that the thought, speech, and action of everyone will always be in an evolutionary direction,” Maharishi said.

Maharishi’s educational institutions will make students
masters of total Natural Law

In response to a press question, Maharishi contrasted ordinary colleges and universities with his consciousness-based approach to higher education. “The usual colleges and universities are employment oriented—they create slaves to some company,” Maharishi said. “Our colleges and universities are enlightenment oriented—we create masters of Natural Law.”

Maharishi said that the success of his approach has been demonstrated by the brilliance of the students at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA. “These students are gaining total knowledge, developing their total brain physiology, and rising to enlightenment so they will always be on the golden path of maximum progress and fulfillment in life.”

Maharishi acknowledged there was a time when Transcendental Meditation was not known in the world. “But now Transcendental Meditation is widely known and practiced, thoroughly researched, and well established. So now is the time it should be offered to every student to make education complete,” said Maharishi, who added: “Now is also the time to abandon all the incompetent approaches to education that have created so many problems and so much suffering in the world.”

“Everyone will always enjoy his own divine nature”

Maharishi concluded by declaring that his consciousness-based approach to education is the basis for creating the most ideal system of administration in every nation. “Through proper education, governments will prevent problems instead of fighting to eliminate problems. Through proper education, governments will ensure that any child born in any nation will not be deprived of his cosmic creativity and intelligence. Then everyone in every nation will always live in waves of bliss, peace, and affluence—everyone will always enjoy his own divine nature,” Maharishi said.
